Family Friday
Last night was a lot of fun. After dinner we went over to the high school and played a little bit of tennis and then we stayed and watched the marching band do their show for their families. It was a lot of fun. It is crazy that next year Sidney can be a part of that. I am the only one in my family and Eric's family that wasn't part of marching band. Kinda sad huh. I think Sidney will love it. It is a great place to make friends that will last for a life time.

Sometimes Hinting Works!!
I have taken a couple of those crazy quizzes in the last few weeks and one of the questions has been about getting flowers. I said I used to get them all the time but it has been a while and then guess what I find sitting on my counter this morning when I got home from working at the school?
Flowers. A great fall bouquet. I love you Eric!!

Being a mom!
I hate it when my kids are hurting. Sidney has had a pretty bad week. As a parent you just want to take all that away and make it all better. Someday all of that ends and you don't feel like everyone in the world hates you. But when it is happening I just wish I could make it all better. I also wish I could take a few people aside and say "Hey look what you did." But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Being mom to a teenage girl has to age you 15 years even if they are only a teenager for 8. Sidney hasn't even started with all the boy drama. What will I do then???

Fresh Eggs!!
What do you do all day when everyone is gone......
Last week I started out making everyone but Eric a new pair of pajama bottoms. I love Braydon's fabric the best.Braydon's favorite are the skeletons playing leap frog. Look at the second line 4th from the end.
Then I worked on Eric's birthday project--pictures to come next week after birthday--
Volunteer at the kids school.
Start writing the Primary program.
Then you add in grind your own wheat flour.
Make Bread.
Make yummy pumpkin cookies.
Make some good chili.
All the while bottling Salsa, and tomatoe juice.

Birthday Weekend
Labor day weekend is a pretty good time to have a birthday. Sidney got to celebrate for 4 days. For her birthday party we set the tent up in the backyard, borrowed a firepit, and let them have at it. I think the girls had a lot of fun sleeping out. Sidney had a sleep over cake for her party. I think it turned out pretty cute.
Then for her birthday yesterday she wanted the Jonas sign. I was pretty worried because I am no artist. But she was totally happy and that is all that matters.
She had a great day and ended up with a whole new wardrobe. What a spoiled girl. She was thrilled. What more could a mom want then.

Let the Bottling Begin
One of the reasons fall is my favorite season is because of bottling. I love to bottle all of our gardens produce. I think it is the feeling of accomplishment that I get. I don't know maybe it is the smell in the air. Maybe a little of both. So bring it on garden lets get to work.
2- 5 gallon buckets ended up in 20 quart jars. I love it.
